Kilmarnock lies in East Ayrshire thirty minutes drive from Glasgow and a short distance from Prestwick Airport. Previous winner of the UKs friendliest Shopping Town, it is the ideal location for a short break. There`s plenty to see and do in Kilmarnock and it is also an excellent base for touring Ayrshire in general. Places to stay range from comfortable guest houses to a four star luxury hotel. King Street in the town centre is a car free area lined with many different shops including Marks & Spencer, W H Smith and Boots. This is complimented by the Burns Mall which has direct access to Kilmarnock Bus Station and the main taxi rank. The nearby Bank Street is a quieter cobbled area featuring many unique local shops and cafes.
